Educational Resource Unit is a research and consulting group (partnership company) established in December 1996 with the objective of working in an interdisciplinary manner on child development, elementary education, health and rights. Since inception ERU has executed a wide range of research studies and evaluations/reviews. Our unique strength and expertise is in taking a holistic social development approach with a strong gender perspective. We have special expertise in qualitative research, impact assessment of developmental interventions (including gender and social audit), process documentation, monitoring & evaluation.

ERU is the first virtual (electronically networked) research group. We have the capability to work in several states and in different language zones of India and across South Asia. We have researchers in New Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Mangalore – with capacity to work in Hindi, Telegu, Kanada and Tamil .

Strategic planning and programme development has been a running theme in our work and in particular we have focused on operationalising policy by working with government and donors to move from macro policies to concrete programmes and projects.
